In pregnancy, I help you gain confidence in how to nourish yourself and your baby so that you can maintain a healthy pregnancy, and how to prepare your mind and body for the start of your motherhood journey.
I AM FRANCESCA MASTROJANNI
A CERTIFIED NUTRITIONAL THERAPIST & FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE PRACTITIONER.
My mission when working with mums is to create the space for them to take self-loving action so that they can feel vibrant and feel like themselves again, thus creating an abundant reservoir from which to mother. Nurturing themselves so that they may nurture their little ones.
Throughout my adulthood, way before becoming a mother myself, I had been aware of the incredible work mothers do, with relatively little support. In particular it struck me how the transition into motherhood and the early years of being a mother can be challenging, and how now that we are no longer living in "villages", many mothers muddle through mostly on their own, striving to meet the many expectations of this formidable life-stage.
FAST FORWARD A FEW YEARS TO WHEN I HAD MY SON, AND ALL OF MY SUSPICIONS WERE PROVED CORRECT!
This is indeed a unique life-stage when much is asked of our bodies, and often healing is required, yet it is also a stage when our resources to look after ourselves are much reduced. I am incredibly grateful that I was able to use all of my skills and knowledge as a seasoned Nutritional Therapist to experience a positive pregnancy, and then later, to support my mind and body through the emotional highs and lows, my recovery from the birth, breastfeeding, endless months of sleepless nights, never-ending towering piles of laundry, the all-consuming mental load, the all round high demands… and still come out the other end in a state of good health.
As I was drawing on all my knowledge to keep my body in a state of resilience, I committed to using my skills, knowledge and experience to support other mums in the same way going forward. The food and lifestyle choices we make during pregnancy and the year that follows not only can help us overcome symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, resistant weight, poor immunity... but can also lay a solid foundation for us to enjoy our former health and wellbeing further down the line.
